Nick Johnson, Psy.D.
Dr. Nick Johnson grew up in Providence and got his Doctor of Psychology degree at William James College near Boston. His therapeutic style is flexible and tailored to the client’s specific needs, but is always open and nonjudgmental. Nick's work often focuses on the stories we tell ourselves about our lives, which can help or hinder us in our efforts to live according to our values. Many theories in psychology point to the way that living mindfully and intentionally can help us face the difficult changes we may need to make to overcome mental health challenges.
In couples therapy, Nick’s focus is on learning effective communication so that couples can work through their problems together. Nick enjoys the diversity of issues he deals with on a daily basis, and is open to treating adults and adolescents for a wide variety of issues. However, his areas of particular interest include:
Anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD and phobias)
Couples therapy
Male psychology
